Described by Data Transmission as having “one of the most sought-after careers in modern music,” Treasure Fingers boasts over a decade as a pioneer at the forefront of electronic music. Real name Ashley Jones, the Treasure Fingers project has taken many forms over the years. Because of this, Jones has seamlessly experimented with a number of roles including producer, DJ, creative director, designer, illustrator, video director. Recently, he has been label head to his Atlanta-based imprint Psycho Disco!. Now, with the label approaching their fourth year and nearly 60 releases, Jones is returning to Psycho Disco! with a brand new EP titled Quantum Funk. Of course, the three-track project of original productions, Quantum Funk delves into the world of classic House. First, Jones opens with EP title track “Quantum Funk,” which is a nearly five-minute instrumental of late-night groove. Following, “Bodyrocking” is a pulsating, peak-hour cut with a repetitive vocal and bouncy synth. As a result, they cohesively fuse for a dance floor adrenaline rush. Finally, the appropriately titled “Big Kick Energy” closes out the EP. It’s a bass-driven stomper with relentless hi-hat ticks, wonky synths, and breakneck pace. It combines for an undeniable house anthem.
Treasure Fingers Career
If unfamiliar with Treasure Fingers, this veteran producer has built an enviable resume. Giving thanks to the accumulation of millions of track plays, official remixes for Avicii, Chromeo, Kid Cudi, Empire Of The Sun, Theophilius London, Miike Snow, and more. Recently, Treasure Fingers has achieved some career highs, such as being tapped by Moby for an official remix of his 1992 classic “Go!” In addition, Jones has unveiled a new side-project, The Treasury, whose track credits include Young Thug’s album cut “Raw.” The Treasury project debuted at a Brooklyn Boiler Room alongside A-Trak in 2016 as well.
