Nominees Announced for 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards

The sixth annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will commence on Thursday, March 14, live on FOX. The award show represents those who are the most popular on iHeartRadio’s platforms. Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Drake, Imagine Dragons, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, and Maroon 5 are nominated for multiple awards this year.

iHeartRadio allows fans to decide on the winners of several awards, such as Best Fan Army and Best Lyrics. The voting takes place on Twitter from January 9th to March 7th. In addition, two new socially voted categories will be added, including Song that Left us Shook, and Favorite Tour Photographer.

Last year, the award show was incredibly successful, generating over 216 billion impressions across social media platforms. To recap, Ed Sheeran won Song of the Year for his hit “Shape of You”, and Chance the Rapper won the iHeartRadio Innovator award in 2018.

Song of the Year Nominees

This year’s Song of the Year award will go to one of the following: “The Middle” by Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey; “Better Now” by Post Malone; “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran; “God’s Plan” by Drake; or “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5 featuring Cardi B.

Male and Female Artists of the Year

Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, and Shawn Mendes are this year’s nominees for Male Artist of the Year. Furthermore, the Femal Artist of the Year award will be given to Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Halsey, or Dua Lipa.

EDM Awards

Although iHeartRadio will not include an award for the best new Dance artist, there are Dance Artist of the Year and Dance Song of the Year awards. Nominees for Dance Artist of the Year are The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, Kygo, Zedd, and Calvin Harris.

Lastly, the Dance Song of the Year award will go to “The Middle” by Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey; “Happier” by Marshmello featuring Bastille; “Remind Me to Forget” by Kygo featuring Miguel; “One Kiss” by Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa; or “Friends” by Marshmello and Anne-Marie.
