Avicii’s’ family has blessed the EDM community with an album set to release this summer of 2019. Lucky for us, the family did not want to keep Avicii’s album locked away, for good reasoning of course.
The team of Avicii announced Friday it will be releasing a new album this summer titled “TIM.” Also revealed the same day was Avicii’s government name which is Tim Bergling. Aside from that, the album is set to drop on June 6th. However, fans will not have to wait that long to get a taste of Avicii’s latest work. The single “SOS” will be released on April 10.
The same team also stated that the DJ was close to completing the new album before his tragic passing back in April 2018. The team says Avicii left behind a collection of nearly finished songs. Notes, email conversations, and text messages about music were all also found.
The DJ’s family then decided it wanted to share it with fans around the world. Proceeds from the album will benefit the Tim Bergling Foundation to help prevent mental illness and suicide.
The story of Avicii’s death has been revealed. The DJ committed suicide with a broken glass he used to cut himself, causing massive bleeding. What is even sadder is that he was only 28, a long, glamorous life was ahead of him.
