Insomniac has teamed up with renowned television educator and “Science Guy” Bill Nye to announce the theme of Electronic Daisy Carnival Las Vegas 2019: kineticENERGY.
Bill Nye, who will host the festival’s opening ceremony on Friday May 17th, made the announcement in a short promotional video alongside Insomniac Founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella.
Each year, EDC Las Vegas chooses a new theme for its main stage, kineticFIELD, that embodies the spirit of the festival. Past years’ themes have included kineticLOVE, kineticGAIA and kineticTEMPLE, to name a few. With kineticENERGY as this year’s theme, the festival is looking to highlight motion and energy as cornerstones of the experience.
“Think of the potential,” says Bill Nye. “Hundreds of thousands of people moving their bodies, freeing their minds, and dancing to music under the glow of spectacular light. “We’ll convert all this potential to a carnival of kinetic energy!”
EDC Las Vegas will take place at the Las Vegas Speedway from May 17 – 19th, featuring state-of-the-art lighting, pyrotechnics and sound design, large-scale art installations, fireworks and much more across eight different stages. The festival attracts hundreds of thousands fo fans each year, making the largest dance music festival in North America.
The lineup for EDC Las Vegas 2019 has yet to be announced, however previous years have welcomed the biggest names in EDM, including Marshmallow, Martin Garrix, Zedd, Tiësto, DJ Snake, Calvin Harris, Armin van Buuren and much more.
